My name is Carolyn Little. I use she, her, hers pronouns. I graduated with my Master’s in Science of Education specializing in Clinical Mental Health from Northern Illinois University. In addition, I also obtained my Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University specializing in Family and Child Studies. I am from Chicago, IL, and I have two children, Dyrell (19), and Zaria (9). Aside from being a parent, I find pleasure in spending time with family and friends, splurging on myself, listening to music, traveling, and laughing (humor is my outlet).
My passion for helping others goes without saying. My work background consists of me working as a Residential Counselor, a paraprofessional in many alternative school settings where students have had difficulties with emotional regulation, behavior concerns, PTSD, and a plethora of other diagnosis disorders. Crisis de-escalation was one of the many roles that I had to fulfill in each of these settings.
I utilize a plethora of integrative techniques to build a therapeutic relationship. I believe transparency open doors for effective communication and trust. I am trained in Trauma-focused therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-focused, and many more. I have a vibrant personality and highly spiritual. I walk alongside with my client’s as we step into a transformation of healing.
My philosophy follows the belief that no one is immune to the tribulations of life, we all will face some form of adversity. During those moments is when we are challenged to channel our darkest secrets in order to become a better version of the person we desire to be. Happiness is a choice and joy is everlasting.
